It started with a conversation.
During an everyday adda, the founders found themselves discussing the taboos that still persist around menstruation in Bangladesh. They realised how deeply period poverty — a long-standing issue — remains hidden and largely unaddressed.
That spark led to Team Pritilata and an unwavering commitment to menstrual hygiene management. The mission was never just entrepreneurship; it was social impact.

Floating on the moon.
Recognition came when Pritilata was announced champion of the University Innovation Hub Program's Start Innovation cohort — securing a BDT 50,000 pre-seed and the confidence to build.
With the support of UIHP's mentors and weekly sessions, the team refined their business model and prepared for pitch competitions. The first machine soon went live at SUST, paired with a campaign to break the taboos surrounding menstrual health.
As told to the University Innovation Hub Program, 2024.
